On 2 February 2023 a reception was held at the Courtyard at The House on Sathorn to honor and celebrate the life of Al Chandler. In addition to Al’s family the event was attended by a broad spectrum of representatives and dignitaries from the Thai legal and business community. Distinguished guests shared their words of remembrance.

The establishment of a student scholarship fund was announced at the event to support students who lack financial means to study law at Chulalongkorn University where Al was a lecturer. The intention is to support access to law as a career to provide more equality of opportunity.  

Al co-founded Chandler & Thong-Ek Law Offices (CTLO) in 1974 and developed the firm to be a leading law firm in the Thai market. The firm subsequently integrated with  Mori Hamada & Matsumoto in 2017. Al passed away on October 25, 2022 at the age of 86.
